jtsec and Applus+ Laboratories at Two Talks and Two Panels

Our presence was particularly notable this year, with two talks and participation in two panels within the program, which we describe below:

  • Panel Discussion: How Will Native Cloud Migration Affect CC Certification? – Javier Tallón

This panel analyzed the challenges posed by the trend toward native cloud migration. With native cloud migration, applications are re-engineered to function fully in the cloud environment. Native cloud applications are often more complex than traditional ones due to their distributed nature and reliance on cloud services.

  • Summary Panel Discussion: How Will Common Criteria Deal With the Complex Interplay Between Multiple Global Frameworks? – José Ruiz

This expert panel discussed the relationship between Common Criteria and the growing number of cybersecurity schemes, addressing the challenges, complexity, harmonization, and mutual recognition among these frameworks as key topics.

  • 2024 CC Statistics Report: Common Criteria Stays Strong – José Manuel Pulido (link to pdf)

As in previous editions of the ICCC, the statistics on Common Criteria provided valuable market data. This talk presented the Common Criteria data for a year when the market is changing, with a slight decline in the number of certifications, due to the moment of transition to EUCC and CC2022, and to the emergence of new schemes based on Common Criteria.

Applus+ Laboratories has achieved the rank of the second laboratory worldwide in 2024.

  • Using Common Criteria/EUCC to Meet CRA – José Manuel Pulido (link to pdf)

This talk explored common questions such as: Is EUCC a suitable and practical way to meet CRA requirements? What adaptations must the certification industry implement to obtain CRA presumption of conformity through EUCC certifications? This session was mainly aimed at manufacturers and professionals in the cybersecurity certification field.

Looking Ahead to the Next Edition

We would like to thank the organizers for their excellent work and we look forward to collaborating next year at the event to be held in Songdo, Korea.
